Veterans Day is an American holiday to honor our military veterans. Its celebration falls on the 11^th day of November. It was also known as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other countries. It was the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, the effective end of a war which ended the First World War.

The celebration of the Armistice Day was recognized by a proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson of United States in 1919.
